Indian Journal of Dermatopathology and Diagnostic Dermatology, a publication of Dermatopathology Society of India (DSI) and Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology - IADVL (Karnataka Branch), is a peer-reviewed online journal with Semiannual print on demand compilation of issues published.
The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository. The journal does not charge for submission, processing or publication of manuscripts and even for color reproduction of photographs.
The Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) came into existence on the 28th of January 1973. Initially, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu state branches formed a combined association (IADVL-KT). Over the years, numbers of members in both states increased and Karnataka and Tamil Nadu decided to form their own state branches and IADVL- Karnataka (IADVL-KN) was officially formed in 2009.
IADVL-KN is a vibrant state branch with many awards and accolades to its credit. Besides conducting many scientific meetings to the benefit of its members, IADVL-KN is forerunner when it comes to the public awareness campaigns such as Vitiligo ratha which was well accepted and appreciated by the public.
IADVL-KN has two journals to its credit-Clinical Dermatology Review (CDR) and Indian Journal of Dermatopathology and Diagnostic Dermatology (IJDPDD). The latter is being published in association with Dermatopathology Society of India (DSI).
Dermatopathology Society of India (DSI) , a sister Society of the IADVL was set up in 1997 to provide a meeting ground for those interested in the sub-specialty with the aim of promoting education, research and patient care.
DSI holds regular meetings and CME events on its own and in collaboration with pathology and dermatology associations.
