The Indian Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (IACAM) was formed in the year 1988 when a group of mental health professionals committed to the aim of addressing the mental health problems of child and adolescents in India, and was formally created in 1990 in Pune. The first executive council was headed by Late Dr. Roshen Master as its President, Dr. L. P. Shah as its Vice-President and Dr. Savita Malhotra as the Secretary-General.
